June, 2006, Meeting at Cushing

Some time last year, a very clever guy (yes, that would be me) realized that the Cushing guys were having all the fun during the summer.  They got to fly to meetings!  "That will never do," I thought, so I talked the rest of the Club -- all in the guise of fairness, of course -- into having the occasional meeting at Cushing Field.

The June meeting was an example of such reciprocity.  With a couple of other FVFC-E members as wingmen (Vance, Rickey and Kevin), I took off from 1C5 on a nice Thursday evening and headed for 0C8.  The trip was uneventful, the food was not bad, we assiduously avoided the tempting frosty beers, and we got to leave early.  The elusive Paul Syverson was seen loading the skeleton of a Quicksilver onto a trailer.  Rich had his new GT-400 out.  Bob Riddle bored holes in the air and landed with a big smile on his face.  Larry's trainer looked unusually clean.  Barry and Brad spent their evening behind the wheel of a laptop.
