Dixon Fly-In:  What is that thing on top of that Blackhawk?

On July 21, several of us flew to Dixon to enjoy a great breakfast fly-in.  All pilots were treated to free food.  All, that is, except Rickey, who had to pay for his, at least initially.  Dixon saw the light and refunded his money when Rickey started talking about his friends at the NAACP.    ;-)

 

There were a lot of cool aircraft at Dixon, including the Blackhawk pictured above.  That multi-colored prismatic affair in front of the rotor, we were told, is a device that can "project" sufficient heat away from the helicopter to throw-off inbound heat-seeking missiles.  I think they were pulling our collective legs.  It's probably actually a trick spooge-channel satellite receiver...
