Fox Valley Flying Club

May/June, 2004 Newsletter

Thoughts from the Editor:

Spring has sprung, and summer is not too far around the corner!  We've now got several fine group flights under our belts, and a baker's dozen of FVFC Pilots (including several enjoying their first-ever cross-countries) made the trip to Mt. Morris on May 16 for an excellent breakfast fly-in.

Mick Pahnke forwarded some interesting photos of military aircraft in action a while back.  I've included them here.  Mick also continues to slave away on his RV 9A, although rumor has it that he was so fed up with the project at one point that he checked himself into the hospital, gladly submitting to back surgery rather than buck another rivet.  Karl Vacek topped-off his hangar at the South end of Clow, and promises libations from a fully-stocked fridge to visitors.  Articles on the status of Bolingbrook's purchase of Clow and the fledgling Illinois Aviation Museum at Bolingbrook can be found within, as well as some scoop on the EAA's big touring aircraft.

Remember that all FVFC members are an integral part of this Newsletter.  To that end, please send to me (via email to gilomen@ais.net) any and all amusing anecdotes, grumpy gripes, scary stories and wanted/for sale/for trade ads.  The more stuff you send, the more interesting this Newsletter will be!
